COLLEGE OF AFRICAN WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT (MWEKA).
The College of African Wildlife Management, Mweka situated on the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro was found in 1963. It is registered by the National Council for Technical Education (NACTE) in Tanzania and a recognized Centre of Excellence by the East African Community (EAC) and the Southern African Development Community (SADC). Since its establishment the College has trained over 4,600 students from 51 countries worldwide (28 African and 23 other countries in the world). It is mandated to provide demand articulated training, research and consultancy services in African wildlife conservation and management.

VISION
To be a centre of excellence in providing professional and technical training, research and consultancy services in African wildlife management and wildlife tourism.

MISSION
To provide high standards of relevant professional and technical training to meet the needs of African Wildlife Organizations for qualified and competent management staff.
This would be archived through:

• Provision of relevant and adverse range of practical wildlife management and wildlife tourism training; and
• Carrying out research and consultancy that enhance training capacity.

TRAINING PROGRAMMES
The College currently offers the following long course training:

• Special Course in Wildlife Management                     4 months
• Technician Certificate in Wildlife Management         1 year
• Technician Certificate in Tourism Hunting                1 year
• Technician Certificate in Wildlife Tourism                 1 year
• Ordinary Diploma in Wildlife Management               2 years
• Ordinary Diploma in Wildlife Tourism                       2 years
• Postgraduate Diploma in Wildlife Management       1 year
• Postgraduate Diploma in Wildlife Tourism               1 year
